To become a master electrician in Florida, a person must complete a registered apprenticeship (typically 5,000 or more hours of on-the-job training), work additional years as a journeyman electrician under supervision, and pass the state licensing exam. Master electricians can work independently, bid on jobs as the primary contractor, and design electrical systems for new construction and renovations.
